Cookie Policy

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites visited by users sent to their terminals, where they are store to be retransmitted to the same websites at their next visit.

They are called "first party" if set directly from the visited website.

"Third party" cookies are instead set up by a website other than the one the user is visiting. This is so because on any website elements (e.g. images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages of other domains, etc.) may be present that reside on servers different from that of the visited website.

What are cookies used for?

Cookies are used for different purposes: running computer authentications, monitoring sessions, storing information about specific configurations for users who access the server, storing preferences, etc.

What are "technical" cookies?

These are cookies to navigate or to provide a user-requested service (for instance, cookies which collect information about the reference language and country, so that the User can "land" on his/her own language from the first access to the Website, or cookies which optimize the Website for specific browsers or displays, as well as cookies which guarantee that the navigation is protected from possible computer frauds and spamming).

They are not used for further purposes and they are normally installed directly by the website controller.

Without the use of this type of cookies, some Internet navigation activities could not be made or would be more complex.

They can be grouped into:

  • navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal browsing and website use (for instance, by allowing specific purchases or authentication to access restricted areas);
  • cookie analytics, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the website manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and on how they visit the website;
  • feature cookies, which allow the Users to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase, etc.) in order to improve the services rendered to them.

What are "profiling" cookies?

These are the cookies used to trace the Users' browsing over the Website and create profiles over their tastes, habits, choices, etc. These cookies make it possible to transmit to the User's terminal advertisements in line with preferences already displayed by the same User in online browsing.

Managing and disabling cookies by the Users

The Website optimally operates if cookies are active. However, the Users can decide not to allow the use of cookies on their computers.

Google Analytics cookies can be disabled by using the additional component provided by Google. This allows users who do not consent that information related to their Internet navigation is transmitted to Google Analytics to install an "opt-out browser add-on", which is available on the most recent browsers.

The Users can also set or disable the use of various cookies on their browsers by following the instructions provided by the manufacturers, such as:
